EVENTS: QUARRYVALE COMMUNITY AND FAMILY RESOURCE CENTRE (09-03-2010)

Address: Shancastle Avenue, (at the shops!), Quarryvale, Clondalkin, tel: 01-6230264. Please come into the centre or give them a ring if you are interested in any of these activities.

THE HAPPY FRIDAY CLUB

Every Friday 11 a.m.-1 p.m. all women are invited to The Happy Friday Club at the centre.

Why this name? Well, when we talked about what to call it we thought about what this group had meant to us so far. One thing we all agreed on was that it makes us happy to come to the centre, to meet old and new friends, and to participate in the different activities. At the moment we are doing arts. New members and new ideas are always welcome!

GRAPHIC DESIGN/DESK-TOP PUBLISHING FETAC LEVEL 4

We are running this course again.

If you are interested please contact us and leave your name and telephone number.

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY - COMPUTERS FOR MEN

An introduction to the Internet and all its possibilities and information; how to book a holiday, how to find out e.g. about training and employment, how to contact e.g. the Council. AS you explore the Internet you will also learn about using a computer.

This course is exclusively for men and will probably take place in the evening.

If you are interested please contact us and leave your name and telephone number.

BINGO

We have Bingo here every Wednesday evening 8-9.30 p.m. Everyone is welcome! Great prizes and a good time can be promised. A Bingo book costs €7, and there is also a raffle each evening with tickets for sale at €1. Coffee/tea and biscuits are free!

HONEYBEARS CRECHE

Places available for immediate start for pre-schoolers aged 2 and over. Morning, afternoon, full-day and every second day available.

Small crèche, home-made food, dedicated staff, important developmental and learning opportunities, and great fun!

PARENT/CARER AND TODDLER GROUP

Do you have a baby or child or look after a baby or child who is not at school yet? Would you be interested in meeting up with other parents/grandparents/carers once a week so the children can play together and you can have a chat and a cup of coffee?

We are thinking of starting an open parent/carer and toddler group one morning a week. Please let us know if you are interested and have ideas for this activity.

PARENTING

There is a great interest among parents and carers to meet, share experiences of bringing up children, and learn from each other.

We are planning two courses; one for parents of pre-school and primary school children, and one for parents of teenagers.

If you are interested please contact us and leave your name and telephone number.

THE HOLIDAY HOME PROJECT

The holiday home in Rosslare aims to provide a holiday facility primarily for individuals and families from Quarryvale, (and Stoneybatter), who cannot afford a holiday from their own resources. It's a great place across from the sea front with all the facilities one might need. During off-peak times it is possible for different community groups etc to use the house.

For more information please contact Aisling or Des on 6725730. All enquiries and appointments should be made with them; the Resource Centre does not have the facilities do this. However, once an appointment has been made, you will usually meet with Ashling or Des at the Resource Centre.

FAX AND PHOTOCOPYING SERVICE

If you need to send or receive a fax or want black & white or colour photocopies then we can do this for you at a reasonable cost.

MEETING/TRAINING FACILITIES AVAILABLE

We have a large training room, up-to-date computers with broadband connection, a large kitchen, and a small, informal and comfortable meeting room. These are all available at very reasonable cost prices to community groups and agencies. Please contact us for more information.

All contact details are stated at the top.
